About Me

I am married to my loving husband for more than 45 years now. I am a mother to 3 beautiful children, until years ago when I lost my youngest son. Since then my life is forever altered but yet unbroken....

Hold the delivery...

“An expert is a person who has made all the mistakes that can be made in a very narrow field...” - Niels Bohr

Right after office, hubby met me at our Sri Putramas apartment to inspect the status of the renovation. Most probably by mid of October the apartment will be ready. Earlier today, we called the furniture company to keep in storage our sofa and dining set until further notice from us.

Tonight hubby attended his class at Masjid Negara and I drove straight home. When he came home in the heavy rain, we had garlic prawn and fried chicken for dinner. It was difficult to keep awake when we were full and sleepy…

Baju raya & telekong...

“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style..” - Maya Angelou

(Pink is not my favorite color)

Hubby and I are on leave today. We planned to go back to Melaka this morning but had to stop at Sally Tailor to tempah baju kurung for Emak. At the R&R Sungai Buluh we had nasi lemak for breakfast. When we reached Melaka town, we bought a few telekong to give to Mak and my 3 sisters.

I was reminded last week when I received a sms from one of them. “ bila akak nong nak bagi kain untuk baju raya ni? Jangan le lambat sangat nanti tailor tak mau ambik lagi!”

Every year, ever since I started working i.e. 25 years ago, I would buy materials for baju kurung and telekong for them for the Raya and I have been doing that ever since although they were already married with children and have their own careers. I always have the habit of buying same type of material for them, same pattern but different colours.

Late at night a sms "Tq for the kain and telekong. Cantik! Aku nak pakai on first raya!"

Kenduri sambut puasa...

“I don't mind making jokes, but I don't want to look like one...” - Marilyn Monroe

This morning, when I stepped in the kitchen I got a shock to see my siput for today’s lunch crawling all over the kitchen. I thought Sara was pulling my leg last night when she said that my siput were planning a great escape during the night!

We had our breakfast with Iwan while the girls were still sleeping in the study. I started preparing for the kenduri early while Iwan and his Abah cleaned the pond and the porch and later set up the tent. Unfortunately, the big-foot couldn’t get started so we have to leave it where it is. The girls at last came to my rescue and helped in the kitchen. We are having lunch kampung-style, with siput sedut masak lemak cili api, daging masak kicap, sup ayam, sambal udang petai, mixed vege with button mushroom, ayam goreng, ikan kering and sambal belacan. For dessert we have cream caramel and grapes. Yum yum…

Noh’s family was the first to come. Followed by Latif’s then Shah came with Tijan and Zoey. Later Ros and kids with Emak. Lan and family came much later. We started with solat zohor and recited doa for health and wealth of the family. Noh and Yati announced that they are going to perform the Hajj end of year. Semuga mendapat Haji yang mabrur.

After lunch, while we were having dessert, Yati introduced some health products and we took turn to test our blood pressure while others indulged in facials and masks on their faces trying the new products. It was good to have all in the family gathering together once in a while and we had a good laugh…

Pure stage magic...

'“A trap is only a trap if you don't know about it. If you know about it, it's a challenge...''

(STOMP performing at Istana Budaya)

Sara came home early in the afternoon, Iwan and Ella arrived from Tronoh late afternoon. After magrib we went to Istana Budaya to watch stomp.

STOMP is an exuberant display of physical prowess, music, dance energy and wit. It is a performance guaranteed to set the pulse racing with a jiving cacophony of amazing percussion on the move, using everyday household objects in non-traditional ways; garbage bins, brooms, drums and matches create extraordinary music and dance. With its high energy, fast moving and very physical dynamic mix of bodies, objects and sounds, abstract ideas are performed with humour and theatrical flair.

Back-breaking job...

“I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work...” - Thomas A. Edison

(Gerakan Murai Batu)

We were having 24 containers consignment this weekend and the custodians will be very busy. While we were busy with the delivery schedules, some were busy with verifications and packaging at the basement. I tried using the counting machines and assist in the packing and ended up with back pain.

By noon I was already home. I washed a few loads of laundry while waiting for hubby to come home. Then decided to do our marketing for provision at Giant. Tomorrow we are having a makan-makan to sambut puasa.
