Kerling Hot Spring is located around 10km from Kuala Kubu Baru and close to the town of Kerling. From the main road we entered a smaller road passing through residential areas.

The hot spring area has been upgraded gradually and now it is seen as a shallow square swimming pool. A well constructed bridge takes visitors over the river to the rest area and hot spring pool. The shallow river next to the hot spring is suitable for bathing and family picnic. Before the MCO, this place used to be well patronized especially on weekends.

Facilities provided around the hot spring are gazebos and BBQ areas. There are washrooms and toilets but they look vandalized. 

Kerling Hot Spring was deserted during our visit except for a family having a picnic by the river.

Kuala Kubu Baru Hot Spring is located in Jalan Ariff 12, Taman Ariff, Kuala Kubu Baru. The route to the hot spring was quite tricky as we had to drive through narrow roads of residential areas.

The hot spring was once only a small pond. The Hulu Selangor District Council had beautified the area by covering the dirt road to the area with gravel, building a small concrete pathway, and a few seats. The pools and toilets and changing facilities were built later.

Although the hot spring was discovered almost 10 years ago, it remains a well-kept secret among the locals. Kuala Kubu Baru Hot Spring is In need of a makeover and facelift for it to be more alluring to visitors.

Hulu Tamu Hot Spring is a natural hot spring about an hour drive from our Bidara House. It is about seven km from Batang Kali town. The route to Hulu Tamu passes through nice rural countryside. The road signage to Hulu Tamu Hot Spring can be improved for the ease of first time visitors. There is a D’Kali Fishing Pond on the way to the hot springs which might be of interest to fishing fans.

Hulu Tamu Hot Spring also known as Natural Therapy Center was closed in March 2019 for major repair work on clogged sewers and upgrading of facilities. There are additions to shelters, gazebos and changing rooms. 

The pool is divided into two sections, one with the naturally hot spring water and the other with cooler water suitable for swimming and paddling. There are several other pools for children.

Hulu Tamu Hot Spring is now operated by a private operator. Entry to Hulu Tamu Hot Spring used to be free-of-charge but now visitors have to pay RM10 for adult and RM5 for children.

The collections of Hot Springs in Selangor...

Tourist attractions including hot springs, had been experiencing a dry spell as people stayed away due to Covid-19 even before the MCO was implemented.

Among hot springs in Hulu Selangor, two are already well known, Kerling and the Hulu Tamu hot springs. However, a third hot spring, the smaller Kuala Kubu Baru Hot Spring is also a nice place to have a good therapeutic soak. It is believed that hot spring water has healing properties, especially good for skin diseases. Visitors will normally go to hot springs in the evening when the weather is much cooler. 

During our recent trip we managed to visit all three but did not bother to soak our feet as the weather was very hot and we were sweating profusely.

The Sihat Muslimat of Taman Bidara had organised a day trip to Sungai Klah Hot Springs Park in Sungkai, Perak.

 

Sungai Klah Hot Springs is nestled in the serene and lush forest, surrounded by hills and clear cold mountain streams and rivers. Its unique concept of free flowing Hot Springs and mountain Springs Swimming Pools and Therapeutic Hot Spring bath pools at the foothill of the Titiwangsa Range 200 feet above sea level to attract visitors who appreciate the wonders of nature. Groups visiting the park can try out the private baths with traditional massage and enjoy the privacy. Another popular  activity not to be missed is the hot springs egg-boiling experience.

Other activities around the area are Titiwangsa Range flora and fauna exploration, Sungkai River rafting adventure, jungle/river trekking and outdoor camping.

Sighting of two moons...

Last night we had a good time soaking in the hot water full of minerals at Bemban Hot Spring. We were there with my sisters and in-laws and stayed there till way after midnight hoping to experience the sighting of the two moons.

The news about the two moons were circulating in the sosial media. It is said that at 12.30 am on 27 August 2014 there will be two moons in the sky. This will happen when planet Mars will be as bright as the moon and both Mars and moon could be seen with naked eyes.

Unfortunately last night the sky was full of cloud. We could not sight the two moons. Not even one moon nor a single star.

Is this phenomena real or is it just a hoax....

Jasin Hot Spring...

Tonight we visited Jasin Hot Spring, another popular hot water spring in Melaka.

This hot spring is located in Bemban about 45 minutes from Melaka town. The hot water spring contains minerals that have healing effects especially for skin diseases.

There is a separate pool for females only and also a cold water pool. There is also a mini water playground for children. Visitors are briefed about the right methods of bathing and dipping in hot pools to optimize the healing effect.

The admission fee is Rm5 per person and it is open from 9:00 am to midnight.

Gadek Hot Spring...

Tonight we pampered ourselves by soaking our tired bodies in the hot spring in Gadek. An hour in the hot water is very therapeutic and relaxing.

The hot spring is located at Kampung Ganun, A sub district of Gadek in Alor Gajah Melaka. It was about 40 km from my parents house in Kampung Sri Minyak. It was already 10:00 pm when we drove to the hot spring.

Although tomorrow is the first working day of the year and also the first schooling day, the hot spring pools were crowded with people coming from near and far. After an hour of soaking in the hot mineral water, and after a refreshing cool shower we went to the restaurant next door to have hot drinks and toasts.

It was already 1:30 am when we reached my parents house. With our bodies rejuvenated, tonight we slept very soundly.
