Sara & Fitri engagement day...

Today was a special day for my daughter Sara. It was a special occasion too for me and dear hubby, as we look forward to marrying off our one and only daughter to someone she loves.

The engagement ceremony was held at Hotel Singgahsana in PJ and attended by close family and friends.

Alhamdulillah... Majlis pertunangan Sara and Fitri went smoothly as planned. As you take the first step of a committed relationship today, we wish both of you happiness, prosperity and love.

Old boys and old girls of SMKB 1971/SIC 1973 gathered together at KGNS. Some are already grandpas and grandmas and we had fun meeting old friends and reminisce old bitter sweet memories. Some came all the way from Kota Bharu, one came from Singapore and one flew from the USA just for this occasion.

My 54th Birthday...

My 54th birthday was celebrated in the office with my colleagues with abundance of food and lots of laughter. I felt a tinge of sadness too, as this will be the last birthday celebrated with office mates. By next year’s birthday I will already be retired, and alone on my own…

Later, the whole family, my besan inclusive, celebrated my birthday, together with Ella's birthday at Victoria Station, PJ.

Chinese Lacquerware

Lacquer was a popular form of decoration and protective covering in ancient China. It was used to colour and beautify screens, furniture, bowls, cups, sculpture, musical instruments, and coffins, where it could be carved, incised, and inlaid to show off scenes from nature, mythology, and literature. 

Lacquerware can be made of wood, metal, or just about anything similar which have been covered in a liquid made of shellac or melted resin flakes dissolved in alcohol or a synthetic substance, which forms a hard protective smooth coating when dry. Lacquerware remains relatively light in weight.

In  October 2003 I attended a Banknote Seminar in Shanghai and visited Suzhou. In October 2009, hubby and I travelled to Beijing, and spent a week visiting the attractions with the help of a personal tourist guide. And in 2013 we join Safir Travel for an epic China Silk Route Exploration covering major towns across China.
