Annual Medical Check-ups...

Hubby and I had our annual medical check-ups done on the same day. As it was the day after a long weekend holidays, the Executive Screening Centre was crowded. We chose our usual screening packages and completed all tests by noon. Our review for the results was scheduled in a week’s time.

Many feel anxious about the results of their medical check-ups. I'm that person who starts worrying about my doctor's appointments days before my scheduled visit. Just thinking about stepping into my doctor’s room make me nervous and my normally healthy blood pressure will shoot up in his presence. And I often worry that my doctor will brush off my concerns and complaints during the review.

Alhamdulillah, our medical check-up results were better than expected. Hubby’s cholesterol was back to normal. He is advised to discontinue his cholesterol pills. I still have to take my calcium pills supplement daily for my osteoporosis.

Our next follow-up with the specialist will be in three months time.

Babysitting the grandkids at Mandy Villa...

After our short holidays in Pulau Perhentian, we stayed in Mandy villa to babysit Hana and Amir. Both are quite able to look after themselves at home but as it was schooling days, someone had to send them very early in the morning. After school, the school bus will send them home. 

Their parents were still on holidays in Italy till next week.

When we decided to join the SMKB gang for a holiday in Pulau Perhentian, we didn't realise that it would coincide with Ella's plan to join Iwan in Italy.

As Hana and Amir will not be joining their parents, we decided to bring them along to Pulau Perhentian. They had to play truant for a few day for this trip!

The Sacrifice on Eidul Adha...

"Whoever slaughtered (the sacrifice) after the prayer, he slaughtered it at the right time and followed the tradition of the Muslims..."

A week before Eidul Adha, we were supposed to travel to Stung Treng, a town at the Cambodia/Laos border to celebrate Eidul Adha and perform our ibadah qurban there. We cancelled our plan to take care of our grandchildren, Hana and Amir, as their parents were in Italy during that same period.

We spent the Raya Haji at our Bidara House and joined the Ibadah Qurban gotong-royong program at Masjid At-Taiyibbin. To foster the spirit of cooperation, the Muslim residents, young and old, came together to help the processing of sembelihan of nine bulls and a few goats and packing of qurban meat for distribution.

The Qurban meat was divided into three equal portions, one-third was for the one who performed the qurban, one-third was for the residents and friends, and the final third was to be donated to those in need. The gotong royong ended by Zohor and there was a jamuan tengahari after Zohor prayers. Alhamdulillah...

Eidul Adha begins on the 10th of Zul-Ḥijjah, the last month of the Islamic calendar, and continues for an additional three days which follows the completion of the annual Hajj pilgrimage, at the time of performing the Qurban.

As early as 7.30 am we were already at the Masjid At-Taiyibbin Taman Bidara for solat Hari Raya Eidul-Adha. The Imam/Khatib jemputan was Ustaz Fitri. The prayers were performed early as our masjid will be sacrificing nine bulls and a few goats. 

As usual Masjid At-Taiyibbin was full house during Eid prayers.
