About Me

I am married to my loving husband for more than 45 years now. I am a mother to 3 beautiful children, until years ago when I lost my youngest son. Since then my life is forever altered but yet unbroken....

Pak Uda is a spitting image of my Abah...

“Your presence is missed every single day, but your legacy of love lives on...”

(Abah younger brother, Pak Uda Talib)

Pak Uda looks very similar to my father.

We were on our way to Serom for a wedding reception of one of our cousins when my brother decided to detour to Kampung Kundang to visit Pak Uda, my ailing uncle. Pak Uda is my Abah's younger brother. At this old age, it was fascinating to see such a strong family resemblance. Not just their looks that are alike, but they both shared similar personalities traits as well.

Watching him laugh while narrating old nostalgic stories makes me deeply miss my Abah...

Loved ones die too soon...

"The good die young but not always. The wicked prevail but not consistently..."- Helen Hayes

(Grief is a complex journey)

Losing loved ones is one of the hardest experiences we face.

I am allowing myself to grieve. It's okay to feel a range of emotions, from sadness to anger to confusion.  It can feel like a piece of our heart is missing. But I will forever cherish the happy memories of them in my heart.

Tasmania Road Trip...

"Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail..." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

(A 12-day road trip)

The Tasmanian Trip
Date: 20 Aug 2023 - 02 Sept 2023

We had visited Australia several times in the past. Our first trip was in 1999 when we visited Brisbane and the Gold Coast. In 2005 we visited Perth. In 2009 we had a road trip in a caravan from Brisbane to Port Campbell and back. And in 2013, we had a family caravan holiday road trip from Sydney to Melbourne.

For the next two weeks we will venture in a road trip around Tasmania, Australia covering most of the major towns and visiting attractions along the way. Since Tasmania is a small and compact island, our journeys will be covering short distances as the roads are small and winding. We opted driving a compact SUV for this Tasmanian road trip.

We will be celebrating our 44th Anniversary in Tasmania. It is the end of winter. The weather is perfect for our road trip!

Tasmanian Road Trip Itinerary:
01 Tasmania: KL - Sydney
02 Tasmania: Sydney - Hobart
03 Tasmania: Hobart - Port Arthur
04 Tasmania: Eaglehawk Neck - St Helens
05 Tasmania: St Helens - Launceston
06 Tasmania: Launceston - Hobart
07 Tasmania: Hobart Free & Easy

I lost a dear friend today...

"Friendships formed in life are broken in death. The love we shared remains unbreakable..."

(Adilah Hassan 1955 - 2023)

You passed too soon, my dear friend but you will always remain in my prayers and thoughts.

Death is Nothing at all

Everything remains exactly as it was.
I am I, and you are you,
and the old life we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name...
