About Me

I am married to my loving husband for more than 45 years now. I am a mother to 3 beautiful children, until years ago when I lost my youngest son. Since then my life is forever altered but yet unbroken....

I'm fine, how are you?

"Health is like money, we never have a true idea of its value until we lose it..." - Josh Billings

(A visit to the Heart Centre)

I'm Fine, How Are You?

There's nothing the matter with me,
I'm just as healthy as can be,
My pulse is weak, my blood is thin,
But I'm awfully well for the shape I'm in.

All my teeth have had to come out,
And my diet I hate to think about.
I'm overweight and I can't get thin,
But I'm awfully well for the shape I'm in.

Sleep is denied me night after night,
But every morning I find I'm all right.
My memory's failing, my head's in a spin.
But I'm awfully well for the shape I'm in.

The moral of this as the tale unfolds,
Is that for you and me, who are growing old.
It is better to say "I'm fine" with a grin,
Than to let people know the shape we are in.

I'm fine, how are you?

A birthday celebration...

"A friend who understands your tears is much more valuable than a lot of friends who only know your smile..."

(SMKB Class of 1972)

On the way back to KL from JB we stopped at Sariah's house in Kota Warisan.

This afternoon we had a small get together of the SMKB's gang to celebrate Sariah's and Adilah's birthday. And to also bade farewell to Dr. Nik Arif and Hamidah who will be flying back to the USA.

As usual, we had a spread of good home-cooked food for the occasion.

Ode to friendship

They're the few people who accept silence over conversation
A relationship like this denies silly promises and persuasion
You don't feel the need to second guess thoughts or measure words
Their love comes in wholes, not halves, not thirds

They're the ones that guide you through when fate takes a turn
Fights, small and large, end in forgiveness, never a burn
You forget about first impressions and the feelings they brought
You're grateful for who they are and you forgive 'em for what they're not

Quality time in JB...

"Grandchildren are like snowflakes, each one is beautifully unique..."

(Cousins enjoying their bath at Nong Chik Height)

The day we came back from our Aegean Cruise and Turkey tour we took over the duty of baby sitting Hana and Amir as their parents will be in the US for a 2-week holiday.

And Tuesday to Friday, I drove back alone to Melaka for nurse duty taking care of my emak. The two kids were left with dear hubby in KL as Hana has to go to school. During the long Labour Day weekend, we drove to Sara's house in JB so that Hana and Amir could spend time with their cousins, Alia and Arif.

It was quite a hectic schedule but it was fun.
