Breakfast in Kajang...

“In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends...” - Martin Luther King Jr.

I normally will go back to sleep after Subuh prayer.

When dear hubby reminded me of a breakfast date with Diami and family I took my shower and got ready hastily as we do not want to be late.

Today they were celebrating 80th Anniversary of Angkatan Tentera Malaysia in Dataran Merdeka. The ‘Perarakan Raksasa ATM’ will start from 8.00 am, is claimed to be one of the biggest event involving 8,000 armies personnel. On the way to Kajang we could see planes flying in formation low in the sky. Some roads were closed but we were lucky that the main road leading out of town was quite smooth.

We met Diami and Ani in a restaurant in Kajang and had breakfast with their family. Diami is our biker friend from KB and he and his family came all the way to attend his daughter’s convocation at PICC Putrajaya.

Another court case...

“A woman is like a tea bag: you cannot tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water...” - Nancy Reagan

Yesterday in Shah Alam court was a waste of my precious time.

Today I was in court again. First half of the morning was spent in the witness room killing time chit-chatting with the IO. I was called to testify at 11.00 am.

The session with the DPP was smooth sailing and I was confident in answering questions. I was a little cautious when being crossed by the defense lawyer. I answered frankly and truthfully of course. At times we argued. Sometimes we had it out over the most ridiculous petty things. I remember getting hot under the collar a few times with questions which demand only a yes or no answers whereas I was ready to volunteer a lengthy, clearer explanations. Without as much as a flinch, I’d have leaped into an argument and crawled over some nerves. But, unfortunately, I never had those opportunities.

By 1.00pm I was released. And I celebrated with a hearty lunch with a friend...

A gift card...

“An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest...” - Benjamin Franklin

Today I received this gift card worth RM50 from Petronas.

The gift card is part of Petronas card campaign. I have been using Petronas Ikhwan Visa Gold Card for my petrol purchase for quite sometimes now. Using a different card helps me a lot in separating my petrol expenses from the rest of my credit card purchases.

The gift card can be used to purchase items at Petronas Petrol Station and can be reloaded but I am yet to use it.

A severe food poisoning...

“Do not be afraid of death. Be afraid of the half-lived life...” - Laird Hamilton

(Dinar Matahari special dish)

A week ago I received in my e-mail an invitation to a meeting with the lawyers at my former office.

There was no reconfirmation or cancellation so I drove early to office as I know that parking will be difficult. When I passed Sasana Kijang I saw a long queue of people waiting for the counter to be opened. Today BNM is issuing commemorative coins in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary of the Formation of Malaysia. I need to remind my ex-staff to get me some of these coins later.

I was in the midst of the meeting when I received a sms from the Assistant Governor asking for a lunch meet. Although I was a little off-weather, I agreed to meet her and we had Mee curry lunch at Dinar Matahari.

The Mee Curry was scrumptious, topped with my favorite sambal kerang and a tall glass of mango lassi, I was very full when I droved home. As I was having a bad migraine I took a nap the whole afternoon. I was a little nauseated when I woke up and vomited my whole lunch.

And only in the middle of the night, after visiting the toilet so many times, I realized that I had a very severe food-poisoning.

Bikers family day...

“Have the courage to act, leave behind you the internal worries that hold you back. Risk a change, overcome fear and win…”

It is less than 3 weeks before our Kembara Qurban 2 trip.

The bikers gang had arranged for a weekend gathering for the 14 participants of the Kembara Qurban 2 on Hari Malaysia. We had invited other bikers, friends and families to join us. The family day was held at KM Chalet at Kuala Linggi to discuss the details of the trip and for the families to get to know each other.

The beach resort is situated at the border of Negeri Sembilan and Melaka and the chalets were full of visitors at this time of the year, especially when it was a long weekend. We managed to book 15 rooms for one night, enough to cater for 35 adults and 15 children. The rooms are simple and modest, complete with amenities. There is a large dining and BBQ area to cater for the crowd.

We had durian party and tea in the afternoon. There was a short briefing for the participants and allocation of responsibilities and checklists. The children went for swimming until it was time for a BBQ dinner followed by slide presentations of previous rides.

The gang stayed late, way after midnight to discuss on details and final preparation for the Kembara Qurban 2.

A wedding, a reunion...

“We all at certain times in our lives find ourselves broken. True strength is found in picking up the pieces...”

Iza and Mona’s second daughter’s wedding reception was held in Sime Darby Convention Centre.

Although they were long separated, it was good to meet both of them on this auspicious occasion. On that night, it was also a reunion of a few long lost mutual friends who were also invited to the reception.

Our 34th Anniversary...

“On our anniversary, we may not have wealth, but we do have each other and that is worth more than anything in the world...”

(1980 - Our 1st Anniversary...)

When years are passing by like days,

And in my hand your hand is placed,

A knowing smile crosses your face,

A simple touch can still make my heart race...

When I can see my soul in your eyes,

And you see your soul in mine we realize,

That a love so deep can harbor no lies

Where our only tears shed were happy tears we’ve cried...

(A Molina)

(2013 - 34 years later...)

Happy Anniversary, I love you too yang....
