The Big Five, we made history again today...

In 1969 we joined the Girl Guide troop in Sekolah Menengah Kota Bharu. In 1970 we asked the Scout Master's permission to join the Boy Scout troop and were allowed to join the Jamboree in Kem Kijang. It was then, the first Girl Scouts were officially acknowledged.

From 42nd KB Scout Troop in Sekolah Menengah Kota Bharu we moved to 1st KB Scout Troop in Sultan Ismail College. Scout values have remained with us and inspired us to put forth our best throughout our life.

2015 Kembara Borneo ..

Tomorrow early morning we will be flying to Kota Kinabalu where we will start our Kembara Borneo riding through Sabah, Brunei and Sarawak with 15 others. The discovery Borneo on wheels, is organised by Wilhin Motor Club and this is the first time we are joining the club.

Last Friday we had arranged with MASkargo to fly our motorbikes to Kota Kinabalu and on Monday we will collect them at the airport.

We will ride carefully and safely.

That day when we started our riding journey for our Kembara Qurban, we flagged off by some biker friends. And Kati had invited a reporter from one of the Tamil papers to cover our trip.

Early morning today I received a short sms from my sister in Melaka.

She was overly excited when she saw this article and our pictures in the Sunday Metro. It is about our biking expedition 'Kembara Qurban Dana Madrasah Kemboja' in October last year where we spent 14 days on the road and 2 days in Kampot, Cambodia. We managed to sembelih over 200 cattles to be distributed to the poor in several nearby villages.This article is actually long overdue.

Our bikers gang is planning for a similar expedition this year, with different routes. InsyaAllah...

RM5 Polymer banknotes...

Early morning, the team did a last minute check on stage preparation and the launching gambit. The exhibition booths were rearranged to cater for easy flow of traffic. The plasma screen and the globe were strategically placed for easy viewing.

Today we announced the issuance of RM5 polymer banknotes into circulation. The new polymer banknote is similar to the existing RM5 paper banknotes in design, colour and size. It retains some security features in the existing RM5 paper banknotes, and at the same time introduces new enhanced security features that are unique to polymer banknotes.

The launching went well. The crowd was larger than expected. The exchange counters were busy. Everyone wants to own the Malaysian first polymer banknotes. The demo counter was also crowded. Media photographers could be seen busy taking pictures for the news. Could see that Dato’ D was pleased with the success of the event. Could see him and the Australians smiling happily, posing for the photographers.

Congratulations to the Polymer Team. We had our celebration at the Bilik Helang Rajawali, the Legend. About 60 people attended the dinner. Dinner was excellent. We even have a Quartet to entertain us while we eat.
