Ceramah Perdana Khas

"There are some things you learn best in calm, and some in storm..." - Willa Cather

The Muslimah At-Taiyibbin were invited to a ceramah by Ustaz Ahmad Rizam in Bandar Baru Selayang.

Ustaz Ahmad Rizam Ghazali is the Principal of Madrasah Raudatul Ulum. His father Tuan Guru Ustaz Ghazali Hasbullah, was a well known religious teacher in Malaysia and has written many religious books and Kitab-kitab Adab Suluk Al Murid.

A few years back, a group of the Muslimah At-Taiyibbin visited the Madrasah Raudatul Ulum branch to hand over some donations and had lunch with the students in the madrasah. Madrasah Raudhatul Ulum or better known as Darul Atiq is a modern boarding school for girls founded in 1998 by Ustaz Ahmad Rizam Ghazali. This madrasah is located in the Ulu Rening Branch, Batang Kali, Ulu Selangor.

Opah Beraya at Restoran Beedara...

“Becoming a grandmother is wonderful. One moment you’re just a mother. The next you are all-wise and prehistoric.” – Pam Brown

(Writing raya wishes on the whiteboard)

There isn't anything that can prepare you for the way your life changes when you first become a grandma.

This year's Eidil-fitri celebration, muslimah At-Taiyyibin were invited to the Hari Raya gathering held at Restoran Beedara. As the theme was 'Opah Beraya', muslimah adorned their best opah's attire. There were presents for the best dressed opahs!

Food was aplenty. Main dishes were prepared by the restaurant, the rest were potlucks from the self-proclaimed MasterChefs. All were delicious and tasty. We had so much fun watching the younger ones in their opah's dresses. It’s funny to be a grandmother before your time to be one. You start to act all eccentric and do things you never thought you’d do.

We had an enjoyable time, all fun and no stress!

House Warming and Marhaban...

"Your home should tell the story of who you are and be a collection of what you love..." - Nate Berkus

(The Marhaban group reciting the yasin)

The jemaah of Masjid At-Taiyibbin was invited for Majlis Tahlil and doa selamat at Cikgu Fathiah's new house in Dengkil. The Marhaban group arrived earlier in a bus and the muslimah looked smart in their uniforms. I was not in the Marhaban group so hubby and I arrived a bit later in time for an early lunch.

Cikgu Fathiah's new house is located quite near and a short walking distance to the Madrasah Islamiah Jenderam Hilir. The madrasah, better known as Yayasan Al-Jenderami is a modern Islamic Study Center established in 1985.

To Cikgu Fathiah and family, we wish you all the best and have many incredibly happy years in this lovely new place.

Celebrating the Prophet’s birthday…

“Time unfolds beauty, wonder, and mystery to reveal the auspicious tapestry of life.”

(A group photo with Imam Fitri)

The observance of the birthday of the prophet Muhammad is commemorated in Rabi’ul-awwal, the third month in the Islamic calendar.

As we are still in the month of Rabi’ul-awwal, Muslimat of Masjid Negara has organised a simple event to commemorate the birth of the Prophet at our Masjid At-Tayyibin. On this auspicious day, which coincide with the Muslimat Kahfi class we started the event with a short Maulidur Rasul tazkirah by Imam Fitri followed by the recital of surah Al-Kahfi, tahlil dan doa selamat.

The event ended with the selawat and distribution of bunga telur and packed food. Alhamdulillah...

Majlis Bacaan Yassin dan Khatam al-Quran...

“Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value...” - Albert Einstein

(Muslimah in bright pink attire)

This morning, after my Kahfi class at Masjid At-Tayyibin, I attended another event organised by the Muslimah Surau al-Firdaus. The Majlis baca Yassin and Khatam al-Quran was led by Ustaz Dasuki, the Imam of Masjid al-Firdaus.

This is my first time joining this group as I had never attended any of their events prior to this. The event was organised quite well and went smoothly. The attendees received a door gift each, with lots of food and a white tudung as door-gift souvenirs.

I had requested to be included in the WhatsApp group and would join any event if time permitted, insyaAllah.

Kelas Al-Quran Ustaz Junaidi...

“And do not mix the truth with falsehood or conceal the truth while you know...” - Al-Baqorah: 42

(Ustaz Junaidi with some of the muslimah)

I joined Ustaz Junaidi's Monday classes since beginning of 2017. Today is the last day of our class with him.

Because of the Movement Control Order, Ustaz and family will be flying off to be with his older children in Jakarta. Ustaz's wife is also seeking treatment for thyroid disorder there. The muslimah managed to collect enough to fund the Covid-19 tests for Ustaz and family before they were allowed to board the flight.

(Our last majlis khatam al-Quran)

To Ustaz and family, take care and stay safe. May Allah ease any hardship Ustaz and family are going through and bring happiness into your lives.

We will see each other again once the Covid-19 pandemic is under control, insyaAllah.

(Fooling around with photoshop)

I joined a group of ladies for a day trip to Pusat Pendidikan Al Barakah in Manjoi, Perak. The trip was organised by the Unit Muslimah Masjid At-Taiyyibin Taman Bidara. There were bus-loads of visitors from all over, as far as Kelantan, Perlis and Johor who came all the way to listen to the ceramah by Ustaz Mohd Kazim Elias, the founder and Principal of the centre. Later we had the opportunity to visit the facilities in the centre.

Muslimah Khatam al-Quran Perdana

"The smile on my face doesn't mean my life is perfect. It means I appreciate what I have and what Allah has blessed me with..."

(Muslimah ready to recite the mus'haf)

“Orang-orang yang boleh membaca al-Qur’an dengan lancar dan tajwid yang betul, mereka sama taraf dengan malaikat yang merupakan utusan Allah dan mereka sentiasa berbakti dan patuh kepadanya, sebaliknya bagi orang yang boleh membaca al-Qur’an tapi tidak lancar dan tajwidnya pula kurang baik akan memperolehi dua pahala”.

Orang Asli Bukit Lagong Gotong Royong...

"When you give someone charity be thankful to them. You may be fixing their dunyia, but they are fixing your akhirah..."

(An Orang Asli teenager at her house)

The Muslimah of Masjid At-Tayyibin Taman Bidara organised a Sunday gotong royong and Charity Program at the Orang Asli settlement in Bukit Lagong, not very far from our Bidara house.

For the gotong royong, 30 Musimah gathered at Surau At-Taqwa of Bukit Lagong around 10.00 am and together with the Orang Asli Muslimah we learned to cook some of  the Orang Asli delicacies such as Ayam Buluh, Kerabu Bunga Kantan, Masak Lemak Labu and many other delicious dishes.

After we performed Zohor prayer berjemaah and had lunch, we had the opportunity to purchase durian fruits freshly collected from the nearby dusun at a reasonable price.
