Driving on SUKE to Ayam Kampung Velodrome

"Amazing opportunity and you are not sure you can do it, say yes - then learn how to do it later..." - Richard Branson

(Ayam Kampung Velodrome, Cheras)

Today we drove on the SUKE highway which way recently opened to traffic. The Phase 1 of the Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE) was opened on 16 September 2022 and was toll-free for one month.

(We entered SUKE from Ampang)
(Elevated highways with a nice view of the suburb)
(One of the 14 interchanges)

This road will help ease the congestion along roads such as the MRR2 and Jalan Loke Yew, among others. When fully completed, SUKE will be a 24.4km long road that starts from Seri Petaling, where it is connected with the Kesas Expressway, all the way to Jalan Hulu Kelang with 14 interchanges.

We entered from Ampang and exited somewhere in Cheras and headed to Restoran Ayam Kampung Velodrome for an early lunch.

SMKB old friends Reunion...

“The most beautiful discovery true friends make is that they can grow separately without growing apart...” - Elisabeth Foley

A Friend...

A person who will listen and not condemn
Someone on whom you can depend
They will not flee when bad times are here
Instead they will be there to lend an ear

They will think of ways to make you smile
So you can be happy for a while
When times are good and happy there after
They will be there to share the laughter

Do not forget your friends at all
For they pick you up when you fall
Do not expect to just take and hold
Give friendship back, it is pure gold.

Follow-up visits to the Doctors

"Nothing goes to waste on the journey of life. Both good and bad experience shape your mind and heart for what is to come..."

(A new deco at the lobby)

Today, both of us had follow-up visits with our doctors at Pantai Hospital.

We were early as usual. My detailed endoscopy and colonoscopy results were reviewed and I was prescribed medications for my gastritis and ulcers and advised to regulate my eating habits. Another follow-up visit was scheduled in a month's time.

While I was with the Gastroenterologist, hubby had his blood and urine samples tested and reviewed by his doctor. We completed our follow-up visits almost at the same time.

“People without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots” – Marcus Garvey

(Masjid Al-Ghaffar, Jasin, Melaka)

After our visit to my sisters Amah and Zai houses, we drove towards JB and made a brief stop to visit a new mosque in Jasin.

Masjid Al-Ghaffar is located in Taman Maju, Jasin. The construction of this mosque is at its first phase. The second phase will include the imam, bilal and noja quarters as well as a temporary detention home for troubled families. This mosque is built on a hill and is the largest mosque in Jasin.

Restoran Coconut Tree Kitchen...

(A restaurant in Bangi)

On the way to Melaka we detoured to Bangi to have lunch at Restoran Coconut Tree Kitchen. The restaurant is owned by a friend who used to travel together. He once owned a travel company before the pandemic.

The ambience was good and the food was delicious.

A morning Walk at Kepong Metropolitan Park...

"Exercise not only changes your body, it changes your mind, your attitude and your mood..."

We have been skipping our regular morning walk for almost two months.

This morning we put on our comfortable track shoes and drove to Taman Tasik Metropolitan Kepong. The walk around the lake covered almost a five km distance and took us over an hour. It was a leisure walk and the weather was good.

Studies have shown that if you perform any physical activity like walking a few kilometres regularly, it can boost your mood. Exercise activates happy hormones and your mood eventually lifts up.

Endoscopy and Colonoscopy procedures

“The wish for healing has always been half of health...” - Lucius Annaeus Seneca

(Endoscopy Centre, Pantai Hospital)

When I complained of frequent stomach aches and irregular bowel movements I was referred to a Gastroenterologist. A date was fixed for me to have both the endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures to detect possible abnormalities that cause the pain.

(The view from our Putramas apartment)
(Ready for the procedures)
(A light meal after the procedures)

I was given laxatives to clear my bowels a day before the procedures. The laxatives caused me frequent trips to the bathroom. I arrived early at the Endoscopy Centre on the day of the procedure. I was warded and prepped at the day-care ward. The procedures involved minimally invasive processes that uses a specific tool to detect possible abnormalities in the stomach and colon. I was sedated and was asleep throughout the entire procedure which took about 40 minutes. The doctor took tissue samples and removed some polyps from my stomach and colon for further tests.

(Feeling overly hungry)
(Chicken Rice and Asam pedas for lunch)

A full report on the procedures and the results of the procedures will be ready on my next follow-up visit.
