Mid-morning Breakfast at Teh Tarik Place...

"True friends say good things behind your back and bad things to your face..."

(A brunch date at Teh Tarik Place)

As usual, we arrived early at the meeting place in Paradygm Mall.

YB Ubai was in town, so we took the opportunity to gather some of the SIC Hostelite sisters for brunch at Teh Tarik Place. The food was good and the ambiance was conducive for relaxing chat among the sisters.

Thanks to Datin Seri Dah for the treat...

Alia's 6th Birthday...

"You don't always get what you wish for, you get what you work for..."

(Make a wish everybody!)

Make a wish on your birthday

Make a wish and give it wings
Dreams of bright and beautiful things
Dance through all the fun filled hours
Don't forget to smell the flowers

Share some love and birthday cake
All life joys are yours to take
And when evening comes to view
Thank your lucky stars you're you

Happy Birthday dear Alia...

Catching up with old friends...

"Good food is all the sweeter when shared with good friends..."

(A lunch meet of old friends)

It's been a while since we met.

Hubby and I are going off for a 2-week holiday in Ireland and Iceland starting next week so today is the only time that we are quite free to meet my SMKB friends since 1970's for lunch.

Satay Samuri in Kajang was a good venue to meet as it is situated steps away from Gate C of Kajang MRT Station making it convenient to just take the train and avoid the traffic jam. As it was on a weekday there was no queue and we had our orders delivered immediately to our table.

Drinking a cool tall glass of water melon juice on a hot day, with good varieties of satay in the presence of good company is one of life's most civilized pleasures...

Iceland and Ireland Winter Holiday…

“People don't notice whether it's winter or summer when they're happy...” – Anton Chekhov

(The Blue Lagoon, Iceland
(The Sun Voyager, Iceland)

Ireland and Iceland are definitely on our bucket list!

This is our repeat trip to Ireland and our first to Iceland. In May 2017, during our 20-day road trip in the United Kingdom, we made a detour and boarded the ferry from Holyhead to Dublin in the Republic of Ireland.

For this trip we will fly into Dublin and stay for two nights and visit the many attractions in the Republic of Ireland. From Dublin we’ll fly to Iceland and stay there for five days where we will have a tour of the island. There’s nothing like a good trip on the Iceland roads, especially when driving past pristine landscapes, natural beauty, volcanoes, blue icebergs, and roaring waterfalls. If we are lucky, we’ll sight the elusive Northern Lights.

From Iceland, we’ll fly back to Dublin and go for a road trip to Belfast in Northern Ireland before we fly back home.

Yes, we are going for an adventure trip. And the cold winter weather will definitely freeze the blood in our veins…

Momento from Holland (2002)

“Do not ruin today with mourning tomorrow.” ― Catherynne M. Valente

(The windmills of Holland)

The Iconic Windmills of Holland

Historically, windmills in Holland served many purposes. The most important probably was pumping water out of the lowlands and back into the rivers beyond the dikes so that the land could be farmed. In the fourteenth century, hollow-post mills were used to drive scoop wheels to drain the wetlands. The Molen de Roos in Delft began its life as a hollow-post type and was later rebuilt with a higher stone construction in the eighteenth century. Today it has been restored and is open for viewing.

In Amsterdam, you can see the Molen de Otter, the only wind-powered sawmill left in operation.

We were in the Netherlands in February 2002 visiting the cities of Amsterdam, the Hague and Rotterdam.
