"Keep calm and don't stress over people in your past. There's a reason why they didn't make it to your future..."

10th DAHP Program Amal
(20 April 2019)
Gerik, Perak

I am still recovering from fatigue after my Umrah trip but I have committed earlier to join the 10th DAHP Program Amal. Our Program Amal will target poor single mothers and OKU in Gerik, Perak.

We managed to collect contributions and Zakat from members and bought provisions to be distributed to the needy. With the assistance of Kamal Basha, an AVO from the Veterinary Department and the muslimah representatives from from Masjid Gerik, we completed our program by noon on Saturday.

Boxes of used clothings donated by some of the members were sent to Kamal Basha's house to be sorted and distributed later.

Alhamdulillah...

Orang Asli Bukit Lagong Gotong Royong...

"When you give someone charity be thankful to them. You may be fixing their dunyia, but they are fixing your akhirah..."

(An Orang Asli teenager at her house)

The Muslimah of Masjid At-Tayyibin Taman Bidara organised a Sunday gotong royong and Charity Program at the Orang Asli settlement in Bukit Lagong, not very far from our Bidara house.

For the gotong royong, 30 Musimah gathered at Surau At-Taqwa of Bukit Lagong around 10.00 am and together with the Orang Asli Muslimah we learned to cook some of  the Orang Asli delicacies such as Ayam Buluh, Kerabu Bunga Kantan, Masak Lemak Labu and many other delicious dishes.

After we performed Zohor prayer berjemaah and had lunch, we had the opportunity to purchase durian fruits freshly collected from the nearby dusun at a reasonable price.

Program Amal Madrasah Raudatul Ulum...

"The best among you are those who bring greatest benefits to many others..."

(Old, dilapidated signage of the Madrasah)

The Muslimah of Masjid At-Tayyibin had collected a modest amount of infaq to be donated to Madrasah Raudatul Ulum, in Ulu Rening, Batang Kali.

Five of us accompanied by my hubby drove in two cars to the madrasah on Sunday morning. We brought with us Nasi Arab ordered from Restaurant Hadramawt Bandar Baru Selayang enough to feed 70 adults.

Madrasah Raudatul Ulum is a  madrasah branch of Darul Atiq specially to accommodate female students. The Madrasah is located at Ulu Rening, Batang Kali, Ulu Selangor. It is a modern tahfiz school founded in 1998 by Ustaz Hj. Ahmad Rizam Ghazali. The construction of madrasah buildings that can accommodate more than 100 students is from donations and public contributions.

We arrived early and gathered at the musolla of the madrasah. As a welcoming gesture, we were entertained by a Nashid performance by the students. Later we listened to a short taklimat by Ustaz Nasrul, a brother in-law of Ustaz Rizam, who had other engagement out-station. After the taklimat we had lunch served in trays and later Ustaz Nasrul led the congregation for Zohor prayers.

We ended the visit by presenting our cash contribution to Ustaz Nasrul.

We had collected enough fund for our yearly Charity Program.

(Discussion on the program itinerary)

After a briefing by the Secretary of the Masjid and a simple breakfast, we started to distribute the provisions and cash to the recipients around the area. There were altogether eleven recipients, including a Maahad Tahfiz.

Penang - DAHP Charity Program...

"He who has never denied himself for the sake of giving, has but glanced at the joys of charity..."

(The DAHP gang)

Alhamdulillah... mission accomplished.

The first half of this year, the DAHP gang managed to organise a simple charity program in Penang. With the fund collected we bought provisions and sent them to those we had identified as the needy and poor in the area of Bertam and Tasek Gelugor. They were also given cash, to prepare for the upcoming month of Ramadhan.

It is one of the best feelings, to know that our small donations will make a difference to them.
