Melaka - Turning inheritance into a legacy...

"Sometimes the poorest man leaves his children the richest inheritance..." - Ruth E Renkel

(Wisma Negeri Melaka)

After a long delay, today the six sibling finally convened at Wisma Negeri in Melaka to settle some legal matters related to our beloved parents' property. It was a great relief when the legal signing and distribution were concluded.

Melaka - Family gathering at Kampung Serkam Pantai...

"Ya Allah! Forgive me and my parents. Bestow Your mercy on them as they took care of me when I was young..."

(Offering some prayers for those who left earlier)

A few years ago, we had inherited some lands and properties from our deceased parents.

The lawyer had fixed a date for all the siblings to be at Pejabat Tanah Melaka to conclude and sign some legal documents. Earlier, the siblings unanimously agreed to let my youngest sister Sufiah and family to stay in my late parents house. Not to complicate matters, the rest of the inheritance will be divided according to Faraid.

The rumah pusaka is at the moment under renovation so all the siblings gathered at my sister Amah's place to discuss details.

My eldest brother, Abang Nor and wife drove from KL. My other brother, Ngah Aman and wife flew from KB to KL. We fetched Ngah and Kak Idah from Subang Airport and drove in one car to Melaka. My sister Zai and hubby came from Muar. It has been a long time since the siblings get together like this. It was good to enjoy home-cooked meals while reminiscing good old stories.

In the afternoon, we visited our parents graves and cleared some weeds. After Maghrib prayers we had a simple majlis tahlil arwah at the mosque.

Penang JJCM...

"We only remember the beautiful things about our travels and the bad stuff fades away..."

(BNM Chalet in Batu Ferringhi)

Our 'Jalan-jalan Cari Makan' trip destinations will include Penang and langkawi.

In Penang we visited Warung Laksa Janggus and had the most talked about tasty laksa, crispy banana fritters and mouth watering ABC. We spent the night in BNM Resort in Batu Feringhi. The next morning we had roti bakar and telur goyang at Roti Bakar Hutton Lane for breakfast.

After breakfast, we drove leisurely to Kuala Perlis and boarded a ferry to Langkawi. Earlier we booked two rooms at the BNM Resort in Pantai Cenang. Sara and family flew in to join us for a few days and spent quality time with the grandkids exploring the attractions around the island.
