About Me

I am married to my loving husband for more than 45 years now. I am a mother to 3 beautiful children, until years ago when I lost my youngest son. Since then my life is forever altered but yet unbroken....

On the Ning Nang Nong...

“The trouble with being poor is that it takes up all your time...” - Willem de Kooning

This morning I reached office just in time. Luckily we decided to have breakfast at our favourite Restoran 23 Jam before going to office. We will be seeing each other before class tonight.

I have a little time before my first meeting this morning and while browsing, came across this silly verses for kids by Spike Milligan.

Where the Cows go Bong!
And the Monkeys all say Boo!
There's a Nong Nang Ning
Where the trees go Ping!
And the tea pots Jibber Jabber Joo.
On the Nong Ning Nang
All the mice go Clang!
And you just can't catch 'em when they do!
So it's Ning Nang Nong!
Cows go Bong! Nong Nang Ning!
Trees go Ping!
Nong Ning Nang!
The mice go Clang!
What a noisy place to belong,
Is the Ning Nang Ning Nang Nong!!

One of these days, need to sit with abah and asked him why he called me Nong. Have heard different versions from mak, abang and even ngah. Just need to know more...

Strategic conversations...

“There is no such thing as conversation. It is an illusion. There are intersecting monologues, that is all…” - Dame Rebecca West

Need to find time to do some housekeeping and free some space... No wander I received a fierce warning this morning while trying to open my mail. I have exceeded my allocated memory.

The SMC 2004 is just around the corner, and it’s going to be in Penang. As usual, I have not done any preparation. Typical of me… Will want to wait till last minutes to read the thick files. Thanks to Linda's concern for order and having religiously printed the conference materials forwarded through e-mails and arranging for my itinerary.

This is the second time I will be attending such conferences. Last year it was in Kota Kinabalu and I enjoyed it very much. Not the conference though, but the holiday after that! The theme for this year's conference is “Towards a Strategy-focused Organization” and it has lately become a hot topic at the cafĂ©. Most probably some of the burning issues have been resolved over breakfasts or lunches and the strategy map drawn. Who said that we are not proactive? Should have seen us engaged in strategic conversations, even in the surau.

Ahhh.. and again I will be away from dear hubby. I wish he could be with me…

I Don't Want To Miss A Thing...

“One today is worth two tomorrows…” - Benjamin Franklin

(Aerosmith)

I could stay awake just to hear you breathing
Watch you smile while you are sleeping
While you're far away dreaming
I could spend my life in this sweet surrender
I could stay lost in this moment forever
Every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure

Don't want to close my eyes
I don't want to fall asleep
Cause I'd miss you baby
And I don't want to miss a thing
Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you baby
And I don't want to miss a thing

Lying close to you feeling your heart beating
And I'm wondering what you're dreaming
Wondering if it's me you're seeing
Then I kiss your eyes
And thank God we're together
I just want to stay with you in this moment forever
Forever and ever

(I've heard this song a few times before, but lately I kinda like it....)

Take responsibility for your feelings...

“He who knows nothing, doubts nothing...” - Italian proverb

(Venetian Masks of Tragedy and Comedy)

I nearly dozed off during the presentation. I slept late last night. Lately I have been sleeping late whenever hubby is around, sharing feelings and making up for lost time. If not because of Nicholas Normand's witty jokes I would have landed on my face flat on the table. I saw some enthusiasm in the way my people asked questions and in the way this young marketing lad from Arjo Wiggins tried to bluff his way out. His partner was somewhat more cunning than he is. At least they were not stingy with their findings and analysis. We were left with loads of CDs and brochures. Those were for the team to digest. I was extra lucky though. I got a present, which I still not have the time to open...

Reflecting of feelings, I extracted some contents from an email forwarded to me:
....Sooner or later, everyone you know will disappoint you in some way. They'll say something or fail to say something that will hurt you. And they'll do something or fail to do something that will anger you. It's inevitable.

Unfortunately, you make things worse when you stew over someone's words and deeds. When you dwell on a rude remark or an insensitive action made by another person, you're headed for deeper problems. In fact, the more you dwell on these things, the more bitter you'll get.

You'll find your joy, peace and happiness slipping away. And you'll find your productivity slowing down as you spend more and more time thinking about the slight or telling others about it. Eventually, if you don't stop doing it, you'll even get sick...

I am going to miss my baby...

The final lesson of history: 'Let's never go back there again!' - Nietzsche

KUANTAN: 10.35 a.m.

Hubby was tired. I was too...

Ja's registration was still on when they started the taklimat for all parents and guardians.

We listened half heartedly. At least I while away the time removing the kemuncut from my baju kurung. Once a while I saw hubby dozed off. Should have brought a story book to read. In 2001, we have gone through this in UITM, Arau to register for Sara and a month later in PJ, again to register for her when she was offered for the second intake at UIA.

A year after, we did the same for Iwan at UTP, Tronoh. And today, we were here in Kuantan to register for Ja. He is going to be 19 end of the year but he is still my baby. And I know that I am going to miss him...

We said goodbye. I think Ja is going to be ok.'
