The children received their scrolls last weekend. Luckily their convocations fall on different days, if not we would have to split. UIA 22nd Convocation was on Saturday through Monday and Sara was in the 2nd session on Saturday afternoon, 26 August 2006. UTP 6th Convocation was on 27 August 2006 and Iwan and Ella received their scrolls on that Sunday morning.

Bidara house break-in...

Last night, when we went to our Bidara house to retrieve bags and some clothes, we were in for a shock.

Someone had gone through our bedrooms and ransacked our drawers and cupboards and left our belongings scattered all over the floor. Our house was broken in through the sliding door. We suspect that the house has been marked, as nobody was at home most of the time. Most probably the burglars forced open the grill and sliding door during the day because most people in the neighborhood would be out working.

We decided to stay the night there but Sara was not keen on sleeping in her room alone and called Iwan to fetch her and sent her back to Putramas apartment.

This morning dear hubby skipped work and lodged the police report. The police took pictures of the crime scenes. When we checked what were taken, we found out that one old lap-top and 3 cameras were stolen together with a few of our old watches. I think they have taken a lot more but we are yet to confirm what else are missing…

That night after the Wedding reception for Iwan, we had satay Kajang for dinner with our Singaporean relatives. They ended up sleeping in our Putramas apartment as all hotels were fully booked, mostly by the Arabs. To allow them to have some privacy we spent the night at our Bidara house instead. Iwan and Ella had Ella’s parents and sister staying with them at their Mandy Villa and Sara slept over at one of her goonies house in Bangsar.

The week before, when asked whether I’ll be joining the department for picnic and durian party outing at Impian Rimba, Ulu Langat, I was not very certain at first as I envisaged us to be busy with unfinished business. But I’m glad that we could join them even for a short while. The serene cool ambiance of the dusun and the riffling sound of the nearby stream, relaxed tired bodies and unruffled cluttered minds.

There were varieties of durians, D14, D11, the red prawn and a lot were nameless. I didn’t keep track of how much I ate, but I ate a lot. There were also mangosteen, duku and rambutans by the basket load. While the adults were busy gobbling the durians and other fruits, the children had fun in the nearby stream.

That night, sweating profusely, we slept with the air-con at full blast. Panasss…

The NCAC meeting was smooth. Although new to the game, the lady AG was cool in conducting the flow of the meeting. There were decisions that need the management and the Board approval and the team is working hard towards demanding datelines.


Today is hubby's birthday and we planned to have a family dinner together. The Kofuku Japanese Restaurant in Pan Pacific is comfortable and warm. The high glass window provides a scenic view of the landscaped Japanese garden. We had teppanyaki of luscious and mouth-watering lobsters, scallops, fish and meat. For dessert, at the Putramas apartment, we indulged in sumptuous, rich creamy walnut carrot cake.


Later in the wee hour in the morning before we sleep, I asked hubby what he wants for his birthday.

“I do not want anything.. I already have everything I want. And I have you, Yang….”
