About Me

I am married to my loving husband for more than 45 years now. I am a mother to 3 beautiful children, until years ago when I lost my youngest son. Since then my life is forever altered but yet unbroken....

Thailand 2015: Hatyai Leisure Ride...

"Every traveler has a home of his own, and he learns to appreciate it the more from his wandering..." - Charles Dickens

(KTM showroom in Hatyai)

Ever been sitting around on a weekend wondering what to do?

We had earlier planned to ride in the morning and cross the border to Hatyai for the weekend. But when we were informed of a small get together at Alamanda, we postponed our ride in the evening instead.

Night riding is most enjoyable as there is less traffic and it is much cooler...

Route: KL - Hatyai - KL
Distance: 1100 km

Alamanda Secret Meet...

"Real friends are always going to be there by your side, even at times you tell them to leave..."

(Me in my riding gear, with the girls)

My life has been busy lately...

And this busy life style syndrome is not affecting me alone, the rest has their share too. It was not very often we have the chance to meet with friends. When one of my girl friends announced that she'll be cooking lamb kuzi this weekend, we coaxed her to bring some to our gathering at Alamanda. I could only stay for a while. At least I had the chance to taste the delicious lamb kuzi eaten with freshly baked buns.

Hubby and I had to leave early as we need to be at the Malaysia/Thailand border before midnight. We want to ride safe and enjoy the ride but we do not want to be late for border clearance.

What a hectic day today. No wonder, our life looks like a non-stop race all the time...

My Heart is in Turmoil...

"Learn to be quiet in the midst of turmoil, for quietness is the end of strife..."

(Appointment with the heart specialist)

Strange feelings grow by the day
Unnamed senses take their place
Love or hate I don't know
Fear is what seems to grow...

Am I still the same
Am I all to blame...

Like every other day, today I wish to end this chain of thoughts with a prayer for the best of health, abundance of wealth and peace of mind.

I hit pause...

"Part of being optimistic is keeping one's head pointed toward the sun, one's feet moving forward." - Nelson Mandela

Those days I wrote, forming memory into incredibly textured characters. My narrative was powerful and relentless. But then, I never expect people to read my private thoughts.

And I used to blog-hopped. Some blogs I skipped but some stories caught my attention. Each story was vital, cracking open a dialogue about what was kept secret and how those secrets shaped lives. The narrative was direct and unflinching, pulling you, challenging you, the kind of read where you sit and wonder, oh my god what happens next.

But between those moments, I hit pause and look back, allowing me to breathe in air and reflect on my own story…

Days they pass so quickly now,
the nights are seldom long

Time around me whispers when it’s cold

The changes somehow frightens me,
still I have to smile
It turns me on to think of growing old…

For though my life’s been good to me,
there’s still so much to do
So many things my mind has never known
I’d like to sail away and dance
across the mountains on the moon…

Veterinarians Lakeside Rendezvous...

“Life is not about how fast you run, or how high you climb, but how well you bounce.”

(The seniors and juniors of DAHP 74/75)

It took me four years to complete my Diploma in Animal Health and Production (1974-1978).

For whatever reasons, some took more years to graduate. During those grueling yet fun years, some of us stayed in the same dorms, attended the same classes and even went for the same practical training. For most, after graduation, they straight away find a job as Assistant Veterinary Officer or in related fields. For a few like me, we further our studies and ended up in other fields of practice. Some have become entrepreneurs, professors and doctors.

But don't be surprised! After 30 years in the banking industry, I can still spay and neuter a cat or a dog. And even perform artificial insemination to livestock... Ha ha...

Thailand: Krabi Oh Krabi...

"Don't wait for the perfect moment. Take the moment and make it perfect..."

(Where are Fitri and Amir?)

This is our first family holiday driving trip to Krabi.

It is impossible to fathom the massive traffic jam during long Labor Day weekend. We got stuck at a near stand-still traffic for almost 3 hours, about 10 km from the Malaysia/Thailand border at Bukit Kayu Hitam. Normally, it only take 10 hours from KL to reach Krabi, with a few stops on the way. But it took us more than 20 hours for this trip.

What a hectic journey, but at least the children and grand-children were not complaining...

Date: 30 Apr - 3 May 2015
Route: KL - Krabi - Hatyai - KL
Total distance: 1800 km
