Kelantan: Riding to the East Coast...

"Perfection is not when two people are together. It's when you're both opposite but you complete each other..."

(Pantai Cinta Berahi)

It was not a sunrise to sunset riding trip. It was an impromptu leisure ride to the east coast, just the two of us. The weather was fine throughout the trip, except for the stretch between Gua Musang to Kota Bharu, where we were caught wet to the skin in the heavy rain.

(Taking a break @ Tok Bali bridge)

We stayed a night at Sutera Inn in Kota Bharu and another night at Angullia Resort in Marang. During this short trip we had the opportunity to taste many sumptuous east-coast delicacies and visited a few places that triggered sweet nostalgic memories.

(The old Police Flat @ Wakaf Mek Zainab)

People think it's holding on
that makes you stronger,
but sometimes, it's letting go
that shapes you better....

Our next destinations...

"Though life may seem like anything but a fairy tale, hopefully it will become a wonderful story we will one day look back on with happiness..."

(Twin Towers - view from NZ Gardens)

The 'Presidents Biker Group' met for a teh tarik session on Thursday night at NZ Gardens at Ampang.

Although we were short of our usual quorum, the night started of with many great tales old and new which begin with the words "once upon a time." And we had great laughs with candor and jokes around the table. We discussed briefly plans for our next few rides, some may clash with our personal commitments but we will confirm and update each other through fb and sms.

Yes, we may have to endure some conflicts. We may have to put up with a problem or two. But eventually we will reach the destination we are heading to.

My corners neatly tucked...

"I may be pessimistic but I am also a bit of a perfectionist..."

In my everyday life I like my corners neatly tucked in and everything in its place. I am not one to want to leave things as is, well enough alone.

(The Encyclopedia set in our library)

The other day when dear hubby told me his plan to clear 2 pieces of our land in Sg Rambai, I was quite opinionated and apprehensive. A lot of questions came to mind which in the end led him to think that my negativity would hinder his well-thought plans.

My concern is well intended for I don't want him to waste money, time and energy. And I am one who don't like to say "I told you so..." when things go astray. But I think it's time to stand back and resist the urge to keep fixing something which is still in the early planning stage. If I become too embroiled, it may not even resemble what it's supposed to be.

I guess letting go will help me find contentment!

I craved Chilli Spare-ribs...

"The first thing you lose on a diet is your sense of humor..."

I never worry about diets before. But after a month of fasting, I found my weight remained the same. Not an ounce less, nor an ounce more. And I am starting to get worried.

(Chilli Spare-ribs, medium well done...)

Since the month of Ramadhan I had been craving for a large plate of steak and was looking forward to having one after I completed my puasa enam. So when dear hubby suggested that we celebrate Malaysia Day dinner at Victoria Station, I was elated.

(Hana and her grandpa...)

We drove in the heavy rain and thronged the massive traffic jam. I ordered my favorite Chili Spare-ribs, a taste I am most familiar with and dear hubby was having a rack of lambs and Ox-tail Soup to complement.

It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness.

Pahang: Riding into the mist...

"No matter how bad things get, something good is out there, just over the horizon..."

It was raining heavily when we woke up this morning. I was hoping for a sunny day. But then, even the sunniest of days can have a few clouds in them.

(Tea for two...)

We had earlier planned to go for a ride to Cameron Highlands. While waiting for the rain to stop we had roti canai breakfast by the pool side at Putramas cafe.

(Scenic route from Sg Koyan to Ringlet)

We started our ride almost after 10.30 am and took the Karak highway to Felda Sg Koyan through Bentong and Raub and stopped for a sumptuous ikan patin lunch at pekan Sg Koyan.

(Reflections in the mirror...)

The ride on the winding road from Sg Koyan to Ringlet was smooth with little traffic. The weather was clear and cool with intermittent rain along the way. We rode on and checked-in for the night at Hotel Remix, a small boutique hotel, right in the middle of Brinchang.

(Our new riding jackets...)

As it was raining cats and dogs outside, dinner was a take-away KFC in the hotel room...

Total mileage: 480 km
Route taken: KL - Bentong - Raub - Sg Koyan - Ringlet - Brinchang - Tapah - KL

I feel so tired...

"I can't control the things that happen, but I can control the way i react to them..."

(Let's reach for the sky...)

I deserve a day or two of self-indulgence.

For the last several months, I have been travelling to and from KL/ Melaka and spend the weekdays looking after my emak. I feel like I have nobly taken the weight of the world on my shoulders and feel so tired now.

But so much selflessness can take a toll on me - both mentally and physically. And it's high time I do something for myself, like go for a scenic ride to nowwhere in particular. Or indulge in a few hours of therapeutic traditional massage at my favorite spa,

And this weekend, hubby and I are going to do whatever it is that makes us feel relaxed, contented, and inspired.

Our 32nd Anniversary...

"Love can never be taught for it is to be learned, never to be bought  for it is to be given, never be old for it lives to last a lifetime…"
