Lamb Shank and Pan-fried Dory...

"Have enough courage to start and enough heart to finish..." - Jessica N. S. Yourko

(Lunch at Secret Recipe)

There was a sudden pour of heavy showers when we were strolling and admiring the Street Arts along the back lane of Jalan Mat Kilau.

It was already noon and it was time for lunch. There were a few eateries in town that were already opened for dine-in and they were quite crowded during this time of the day. We decided to have our lunch at Secret Recipe and ordered Lamb Shank and Pan-fried Dory.

Street Arts of Kuala Kubu Baru...

"Be the one rather than just everyone..."

(A new street full of creative arts)

The last time we were in Kuala Kubu Bharu we missed visiting the new wall paintings in town.

Kuala Kubu Bharu is a city in the Hulu Selangor area located on top of a hill. It is the capital of Hulu Selangor where the main administrative center is located. This historic city began to be decorated with wall paintings by 40 students from ALFA Kolej. Since 2020, there are several new paintings that were painted on the walls of the shop houses' back alleys. The uniqueness of the historical old buildings and the results of the wall arts are one of the attractions for visitors. This mural can be seen all over the building walls at Kuala Kubu Bharu Town.

The latest mural is located in the back alley of Jalan Mat Kilau or behind the KFC building.

An Orchid Farm in Ulu Yam...

"Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it..."

(Heaven for orchid enthusiasts)

On the way to Kuala Kubu Bharu we detoured to a famous orchid farm, the World of Phalaenopsis in Ulu Yam.

World of Phalaenopsis is the largest Phalaenopsis orchid producer offering the widest range of colors with thousands of blooms. They have a wide selection of plants and gardening items, as well as a café with mini pond with ducklings! Only those fully vaccinated are allowed to enter the farm. Only 30 visitors are allowed at one time and strict adherence to social distancing and mandatory masks for all. If you have time, you can take a stroll around the six-acre farm, browsing through the different species of orchids or shop for plants and gardening items.

Later you can just unwind at their mini pond besides the café which are decorated with orchids adding to the pleasant ambience.

Rojak Bellamy Early dinner...

"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication..." - Leonardo da Vinci

(A simple dinner dish)

It was already late when we reached the Rojak Bellamy Restaurant.

We were lucky that it was still opened. We ordered two plate of rojak for our early dinner as we were still full.

(Simple, fast and tasty)

(It's near closing time)

Masjid Raja Alang -1928, a new look...

We visited Masjid Raja Alang but it was too early for Zohor prayer.

This mosque was built in 1928 to replace the old mosque which was built from wood. This mosque is named the Raja Alang Mosque after the name of Raja Alang Ibn Raja Berayun. This mosque was built on waqf land which was donated by relatives of Raja Alang.

This is our second visit to this mosque.

(Newly renovated and painted)
(The domes are still golden colour)
(It is not prayer time yet)

Nasi Kukus Tok We in Beranang, Selangor

"Do not let the behavior of others destroy your inner peace..." - Dalai Lama

(Delicious food and nice ambiance)

This is our second time here and the food is still good!

When we passed Beranang we would surely stopped at Restoran Nasi Kukus Tok We'. Beranang is a small town located in Selangor near Selangor/Negeri Sembilan border. The restaurant is cafe style serving original recipes from mom's kitchen with simple set of menu to choose from.

The comfortable atmosphere, good airy space and nice deco makes the cafe inviting for people to stop and try their tasty food. I bought one Daging Masak Hitam travel pack to bring home.
