Pahang - A day trip to Fraser's Hill...

"Traveling in the company of those we love is home in motion..." - Leigh Hunt

(A day trip to the highlands)

The safest thing to do now is to stay home.

While we want to help curb the spread of COVID-19, there is always the urge to shake off that cabin fever. With tourist destinations starting to reopen after being temporarily closed, people have taken advantage by flocking to the various tourist attractions all over Malaysia.

We chose to travel on weekdays to less visited places like Fraser’s Hill to avoid the crowd.

From our Bidara House we drove on the Ulu Yam - Batang Kali Road to Kuala Kubu Baru. There was not much traffic on the road to Fraser's Hill. We arrived at the gap early, then drove the uphill one-way 8 km  winding road to Fraser's Hill.

Frazer's Hill looked abandoned and deserted. There were not as many tourists. Most of the attractions were closed. Only a few stalls were opened at the food-court. Even the mosque and public washroom were closed.

(No congregation allowed at the mosque)

With nothing much to do, we did not stay long on the highlands and started driving downhill to Raub using the old route 55. In Raub, we stopped for lunch at Restoran Azmi Steam Tempoyak and performed our prayers at the surau.
