When we arrived at the new Masjid Kariah Kg Parit Istana, Zohor prayer was already over. After performing our jama' prayers in the new mosque, we visited the dilapidated Masjid Lama Kg Parit Istana situated just behind the new mosque.

The hanging bee is a carving on a pillar depicting the atmosphere during the time this mosque was being built. The mosque has four main pillars which have different carvings on each surface depicting the four main ethnics groups namely Suku Biduanda, Suku Aceh, Suku Tiga Nenek and Suku Seri Lemak which formed the local community there.
