(Dabong Train Station) |
TRAIN to Dabong triggers a new phenomenon among the people of Kelantan to travel to Dabong town every weekend. The location that was previously dubbed the place of kicking genies became popular now. All this happened due to the outbreak of Covid-19 since March 2020 which caused the country's border to be closed thus reviving Dabong as an ecotourism location that was previously favored by foreigners.
Visitors use the KTMB facility which takes three hours from Wakaf Bharu station to Dabong Station. Previously, Dabong Station was only used by locals and school students. Since the Train to Dabong phenomenon, the station receives almost 1,000 visitors every weekend.
Since then the residents of Dabong received additional livelihood by providing vehicle rental services, food business and home stays. Visitors can choose to stay for an hour here before boarding the same train to go back to Wakaf Bharu or board the last train at 6pm. In addition to enjoying the fun of riding the train while absorbing the beauty of nature, visitors who come to Dabong can visit the Fish Cave, Jelawang Waterfall and Gunong Stong.
