Masjid Haji Kassim is an old Malay mosque at Kampung Makam, off Dato Kramat Road. Its founder, Haji Kassim, was an Acehnese religious teacher, who came upriver along Sungai Pinang and established a settlement by the bank, which was called Pengkalan Haji Kassim, after the pier built for the village. After his death, the village became known as Kampung Makam, after his mausoleum, and is still known as such today.

Masjid Haji Kassim had been mentioned as early as 1840, so it must have been built before then. Like many old mosques, it has undergone renovation and expansion a few times, with a newer annex attached to the original brick building, which itself was a rebuilt of the wooden mosque structure.

The mosque is similar in design with the Acheen Street Mosque, built without a dome that is more typical of modern Malaysian design. A driveway leads out to Jalan Dato Keramat where there's an arch with its name.
