Masjid Hj Wahab is also known as Masjid Simpang Enam. It is located near the start of MacAlister Road which at that time had a six point junction thereby its name. This is an old mosque dating back to 1897 and is built on a waqaf land of Haji Abdul Wahab. Masjid Jamek Simpang Enam was earlier a wooden surau before being replaced by a stone mosque in 1897.

Originally, the Simpang Enam Mosque was located at the intersection of six, namely Jalan Macalister, Jalan Dato Keramat, Jalan Penang, Jalan Magazine and Lorong Tek Soon. When KOMTAR was first built in the early 1970s on the land of Lorong Tek Soon, the roundabout that had six intersections has become only five intersections. However, the intersection is still called Simpang Enam. Similarly, Masjid Hj Wahab remains as Masjid Simpang Enam Mosque.
