Masjid Wan Cik Ariffin is a Malay mosque at Kampung Dodol, off Jalan Perak. It was built by one of the successful Malay businessmen of the early 20th century, Ariff Wan Chik Ariffin Mohamed, in memory of his father Mohamed Ariff Mohamed Tajoodin whose mansion is now the New Savoy Hotel opposite New World Park in Hutton Lane.

Although raised with an English education, Ariff Wan Chik became an Ulama’. The land he donated to the Municipality of George Town were developed and the roads leading into them were named after him, namely Jalan Ariffin off Transfer Road and Halaman Ariffin off Burmah Road.
