The old Masjid Taufiqiah kuala sepetang is situated along Jalan Besar, in the middle of Kuala Sepetang town.

The mosque was abandoned and no longer in use when a surau in Kg Menteri, located next to the famous Restoran Mak Jah Mee Udang was upgraded to a mosque.

Originally, the site of this mosque was a surau on a waqaf land in Kg Menteri. As the Friday congregation in Kuala Sepetang are mostly residents of Kg. Menteri, a request was made for a new mosque to replace the old mosque in town. The surau in Kg Menteri was then upgraded to a mosque and named Al-Taufiqiah Mosque Kg Menteri. It is now a Jamek mosque for residents of Kg Menteri to perform Friday prayers.

In May 2019, the handover program took place at the new Masjid Al-Taufiqiah Kampung Menteri Kuala Sepetang and became the only functioning mosque in Kuala Sepetang.
