A visit to Tea Plantations in Cameron Highlands

“There are moments when all anxiety and stated toil are becalmed in the infinite leisure and repose of nature…” - Henry David Thoreau

(The Tea Plantation in Cameron Highlands)

Today we planned to visit the tea plantations in Cameron Highlands.

It was a day trip to Cameron Highlands via the Sungai Koyan route, about 250 km from our Bidara house. This route is our favourite because the road is good and we love a slow relaxing drive while enjoying the scenic views of the mountains and valleys. Although the road is a little winding, it is definitely a way better route than the usual Tapah route.

We had a heavy breakfast of nasi berlauk at one Kelantanese Restaurant in Gombak. From Gombak we drove to sungai Koyan via Bentong and Raub. We made a brief stop at Sungai Koyan R&R to stretch our legs. We later drove the winding Sg Koyan-Ringlet road direct to Cameron Highlands.

Today we visited two big tea plantations, Boh Tea plantation and Bharat Tea Plantation.

(The largest and oldest tea plantation in Malaysia)
(BOH Heritage Tea Centre and Factory)
(Having teas and pastries at the Tea Garden)
(Sipping rich and fresh brewed tea while admiring the view)
(Rolling tea plantations of Cameron Highlands)
(A self-guided walking tour)
(Amazing landscapes and stunning panoramic views)
(Tea pickers on their way to work)
(A long walk uphill to the tea shop)
(A Tea Garden with beautiful backdrop of undulating tea fields)
