Masjid Daerah Sultan Idris II, Teluk Intan is the 3rd mosque built in the city of Teluk Intan. The first mosque was the Masjid Melayu in Jalan Mahkota and is now known as the Masjid Melayu Lama. The second is the Masjid India. Currently Masjid Daerah Sultan Idris II and Masjid India are given permission to hold Friday prayers. While Masjid Melayu is used for daily prayers and religious classes.

Masjid Daerah Sultan Idris II is located at the intersection of Jalan Changkat Jong and Jalan Sekolah. The site of this mosque was originally the site of the old Teluk Intan Rest House.

The construction of this mosque began in July 1981 using donations from the public, allocations from the Federal Government and the Perak State Government. The mosque was fully completed in June 1983 and the first Friday prayers were held on September 30, 1983 in conjunction with the opening ceremony of this mosque. The inauguration was performed by DYMM Paduka Seri Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah.

This mosque can accommodate 2000 worshipers, 1500 in the main prayer hall and 500 at the upper level.
