Masjid Kampung Balun was built through communal efforts using the donations from the villagers and generous individuals. The mosque has an ordinary design with a square roof without any dome, a mihrab area, a prayer hall and dining room. This mosque has no minaret but there is a small iron tower to house a few loudspeakers. The prayer hall is fully carpeted with air-conditions and fans. There is no barrier curtain at the ladies’ prayer section. The prayer hall has a dozen of pillars supporting the roof.
