This mosque is located next to Sungai Bidor to the south of Bidor Town, located on the side of the Sungkai – Bidor road. Masjid Al Muhtadin has existed on this site a century ago and was first renovated in the 1970s. It was later renovated several times with additional new buildings built around it.

The old wooden mosque was once demolished because of damages and a new mosque was erected on the same site. The old mosque was originally planned to be repaired. Many wooden pillars were broken and were no longer able to withstand the load of the roof. It was then decided that the whole mosque had to be demolished and rebuilt. The new mosque retained the old structure replacing the building materials to concrete.

The newly built mosque was not built facing the correct qiblat direction. According to the calculation, this mosque deviated from the qiblat direction by about 20 degrees to the west. Adjustments were made to the layout of the carpet to adjust to the direction of the qiblat.
