We were in Negeri Sembilan to visit a few old mosques from our list. We started driving from our Bidara house quite early in the morning and had our breakfast at the Elmina R&R. We took the LEKAS highway and headed towards the town of Juasseh which is a mukim in Negeri Sembilan under the administration of Kuala Pilah District.

(Situated by the side of the main road)
(A beautiful mosque)

The first mosque on the list was Masjid Pekan Juasseh located on the Juasseh-Bahau main road. We were unable to enter the compound as the gate was locked and it was not prayer time yet. The mosque is clean, neat and quite spacious with ample parking space inside and outside the compound.

(The signage is well displayed)
(Combination of shades of green and orange)
(The mosque minaret)

This existing mosque was built in 1967 initiated by Hj Lasim bin Yaman, the founder of the mosque. The mosque was constructed on the site of the old mosque. It was funded by the government and public contributions. This mosque can accommodate up to 1000 worshipers.

(The mosque is well maintained)
(Ample parking area)
(Isra' and Mi'raj poster for kuliah Maghrib)
(Wide corridor, a view from the back)

The original old mosque was first built in 1900 on the banks of Sungai Muar. In 1921, the old mosque was moved to its current location. There is an old cemetery nearby that is over 120 years old. Not much is known about the history of the old Masjid Pekan Juasseh.

(No opportunity to perform our prayers here)
