Hang Tuah’s Footprint on Batu Hampar..

"We all have a path to take; sometimes it's hidden under the weeds, so you might have to work a little." - Michael Dolan

A hundred meters away on the hillside, which is part of the base of Jugra Hill, between the Jugra Insitu Muzeum and the Langat River, there is a small Chinese temple, and beside it there is a rock cliff which is known as Batu Hampar.

Not many people know that Batu Hampar used to be a relatively rapidly developing port in the 14th century. This is where all the ships will anchor and obtain fresh water. According to old folk lore, Batu Hampar got its name from a black and grey stone that was stranded by the river. This stone is believed to be alive and widen each year. Panglima Hang Tuah once came here for a cockfight. It is said that on the stone there are traces of Hang Tuah's footprints and chicken footprints indentation.

We did have the exact location and did not manage to look for the traces of the footprints. Furthermore, there were a few vicious dogs guarding the temple entrance and urging us to leave the place.

In addition to being historical, Batu Hampar also holds many mysterious other stories. Now it has become a popular fishing spot for the locals.
