It was not difficult to locate this mysterious mosque even though the signage was unreadable and rustic. When we arrived, the gate was wide open and the tall windows of the mosque were opened indicating that the mosque is still in use.

Masjid Pancang Bedena is located in Kampung Panchang Bedena, which is about 8 km from Sungai Besar town. The mosque was built in 1905. Following various strange happenings in the mosque, the locals also called it a 'Masjid Jin'. In fact, some residents claimed to have encountered supernatural beings believed to be jinn while performing their prayers.

During its early years, the mosque always looked bright at night, as if someone was using it. However, the supernatural beings do not disturb visitors who came to worship in this mosque. Apart from the experiences and mystical events that took place in the mosque, a well that was dug as ablution facility for the congregation is also said to have never dried up even though it is over 100 years old.

This wooden mosque displays its uniqueness in terms of architecture. It still retains the unique Malay traditional structures especially the walls that do not use nails. Masjid Panchang Bedena is now placed under the supervision of the State Museum as National Heritage Properties.
