Today, our initial plan was to visit the Royal Gallery in Klang. Unfortunately, the gallery was closed since the start of the MCO last year even though the website stated that it is opened daily. Our intention had to be postponed to next year when it reopens pending the Covid-19 situation.

While walking to the car park through a back lane off Jalan Tengku Diauddin, by chance we discovered captivating beautiful street arts with ‘The Safari Mural’ as the theme. It is only a 2-minute walking distance from the Klang Royal Gallery.

The mural lane is known as the Klang Heritage Safari Walk. Like the name of the trail suggests, it is filled with colourful murals of animals and nature. The murals are part of the council’s urban upgrade initiative under the Royal Klang Town Heritage Walk project to turn drab places into colourful, pulsating and delightful spaces.

In mid-February, 16 artists completed 65 murals depicting animals, birds, reptiles and even insects on the walls of the back lane.
