Kuala Selangor History Museum at Bukit Malawati

“A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for…”- John A. Shedd

(A Dutch Cannon, one of the artefact)

This is our third visit to Bukit Malawati. It is a beautiful area with numerous attractions and a great place for families to visit on the weekends, before heading for a picnic by the beach. For us, we still prefer to visit on weekdays when there is less visitors.

We arrived at Bukit Malawati early and were the first to take the tram ride uphill and had a peaceful pace to visit the attractions and enjoy the panoramic scenery. The tram dropped us next to the lighthouse. Our first visit was the Kuala Selangor History Museum which is a must visit. The museum offers interesting insights into Kuala Selangor’s fascinating history. The museum contains displays of weapons, dioramas, specimens of old currencies and other relics and artefacts.

Admission to the museum is free and photography is allowed.
