The old Masjid Sungai Gulang Mosque was built in 1898. This mosque is located between the towns of Tanjong Karang and Kuala Selangor. It is a stopover destination on the way north from Kuala Selangor. Its location close to the Klang - Telok Intan main road makes it easy for travelers to stop to perform prayers, and relax.

The old Gulang Gulang mosque in conjunction with its name is located in the village of Sungai Gulang Gulang, Mukim Ujung Permatang, Tanjong Karang in the Kuala Selangor District. There is not much information about this mosque. This mosque is built from very strong wood looking at the sculptures on the frame of the mosque. Although it was claimed that the mosque dated from 1986 but according to the inscription on the wooden pillar, the mosque was built in 1937 by the early generations who explored Kampung Sg. Gulang Gulang.

The mosque is rectangular in shape and has no domes and towers. The walls of this mosque are decorated with calligraphy. The construction of this mosque is mostly made of wood.

Since Kg Sungai Gulang Gulang has built a new jame’ mosque, the old mosque still serves as a place to gain religious knowledge for the local community.
